My bestie .....

I stopped by one of my favourite blogs this morning and was inspired this post, to write about my own bestie....

So a couple of things you should know...

We have known each other since we were 4 ...

We went to the same schools

We have been pregnant at the same time

We have both suffered losses, her sister my baby boy

It wasn't until I was about 11 that me and Adele became really close, we were friends before, we invited each other to our birthday party's.. But secondary school is where our friendship blossomed..

We used to sit next to each other in Maths, seeking the odd sweet here and there and laughing at the fact we had no clue what to do... We talked about plans for the weekend ahead ...

Every Friday night until I was 16 was spent with her, in her bedroom, laughing, talking, listening to the Backstreet Boys, we watched "My So-Called life" and more than anything I remember loving her company and never wanting to go home ...

School holidays were the best, I can remember spending days with her sun bathing in the garden, playing "dream date" , fashion shows...

We had fun...

Adele's sister helped me get my first job after leaving school, she worked at the same place, the same place were I met my partner...

When I turned 16 my life was, to say the least a roller coaster, I had a boyfriend who I loved/still love more than anything and parents who hated him, for all the wrong reasons ..

Subsequently I left home, I left everything, part of me wanted to run away as far a possible, the arguments got too much...

Confused, I left my best friend too...

10 years went by, but there wasn't a day that went by that I didn't think about her, what she was doing...

Missed her..

Thanks to the Internet I found her through "Friends Reunited" it took me a few days to find the courage to send her a message, what would I say ? Would she respond ?

I did it! And amazingly she responded almost straight away!

After a couple of weeks of texting, we decided to meet up, I was kind of strange at first, she was hurt, I left her without any explanation, she wanted answers, I gave them, she knew my life had been hard... Looking back now I wish I had of handle things differently .. I know she would of been there, she would of helped me and been there when I felt most alone ....

After those first few times of meeting, it was as though we were never not friends, I was happy and the happiness went to joy as we soon found out we were both pregnant and expecting baby boys...

Even though my pregnancy sadly ended in tragedy, she was there, it was hard, we cried...

She is the friend who is always there

She is the friend who knows when something is wrong

She is the friend who I can confide in

She is there when I need her the most

I love you ....

Thank you for welcoming me and my girls back into your life ...

And with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes, I look back on my memories of those Friday nights with love and a smile .....
