This project has been on my "to-do" list for a while , I finally seized the opportunity on Saturday afternoon, during nap time ..
This is the perfect project when you only have an hour or so ....
Materials
- Canvas or cork board
- Quilters batting/wadding a couple of inches larger than your board
- Fabric the same size as your batting
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Push pins/map pins
- I used a staple gun but you could use a glue gun and brads
Start by cutting the batting a couple of inches larger than your board all the way around.
Lay your board faced down on top of your cut batting, make sure it's in the centre ...
Either staple, glue or tack the batting to the back of the board..

You should have something like this ....

Next, place your padded board on top of your fabric, again making sure is centred.
Fold over your fabric and tack in place...
Pull your fabric tight enough so there are no bumps, but not too tight to rip the fabric ..
Fold the corners as though you are wrapping a present ;)
(notice how I was too excited to iron the fabric first, oops)
Now comes the tricky part, I eyeballed each section of ribbon, but if you would like exact measurements between each ribbon then just use your ruler and decide what distance you would like between each ..
Starting on the left hand side and wrap your ribbon over the corner, like below...
I carried on until I had 5 strips in one direction, then repeat going in the other direction ....
Then place your push pins, in the center of were your ribbon crosses ....
Finish !!
Happy crafting :)
