Fun with the girls and being in the moment

This past weekend, the weather was good :-) so taking advantage of the nice day, I took the girls out...

There was a craft show, about half an hours drive from home, so we packed up the car and off we went...

Yes, me and my 4 girls... My partner thinks i am mad for taking them "all" and on my own, it doesn't bother me at all, its completely normal for me..

The show itself was ok, not much for crafters who enjoy other crafts apart from card making and stamps ...

However I did find one inspiring stall ( more on that in another post ;) )

My 5 year old loved these cardboard cut-outs ... We had to stop and take photos at each one .....

After we decided to go for a picnic, so a quick stop at the supermarket for some snacks.

There was a stately home not to far away from the craft show, so we went there...

It was so quite ....

And as I I sat there watching my girls play, I was in the moment, I was undistracted by anything else and completely consumed by, their laughs, giggles, conversation, their games...

I was in the moment with them...

This was the reminder I needed to make more time, to be in the moment with them....

It was lovely to see how close they are and how much they look after one another ....

How do you make sure you have "in the moment" moments ? I would love hear , lets discuss below :)

Isn't it funny how Daddy thinks Mommy can't handle all of her kids at once??  I always have to remind hubby that I wouldn't have had 3 kids in 4 years if I didn't think I could handle them!
What lovely moments and memories for you and your girls.  Cherish this time.  I am finding mine grow too fast! You probably think the same!!

  5. What a fun day with your children. And what sweet little girls you have. Now that I'm a grandma, I'm always thinking of ways to have "in the moment moments" with my 4 grandchildren who live close by.

During the school year I have a weekly Bible Club with crafts to highlight the lesson. It's funny because of your blog name, but last year I had a Pink Polka Dot Party with them because I had found some wonderful pink polka-dot napkins and a tray and thought we needed a party even though there wasn't any special event. They helped prepare polka-dot decorations and dessert for their parents. We have a Friday movie/sleep over night most weeks. And we sometimes take them out to a restaurant for a special dessert or snack. But to be honest, sometimes the most special moments just happen without any planning.

  12. Lovely post! I don't have anything specific I do to remind me to be in the moment with my little boy. Most of the time he's the one to remind me as he knows how to get and keep mummy's attention! But  I love when I realise we've been happily playing together for 1/2hr in a world of our own. We're on holiday now which is the perfect moment for being in the moment together and I know we'll have lots of lovely family time like that.
